Secondary Testimonials

The trugs games are working superbly well and one young person has gained 3.3 years in 3 months with their vocabulary age.

I love using Trugs in Learning Support with small groups and one-to-one. I always start and finish with a Trugs game and the children now really enjoy coming to Learning Support. The children love ‘Take it’ especially when they get to take all my cards. They are engaged and motivated to learn and it is clear that this motivation also carries through the whole lesson and has made an impact on them academically. Fantastic program. - Gabrielle Clover - Learning Support Specialist - Slovakia

Trugs is the most motivational resource I've come across in recent years covering all age ranges

Specialist teacher in the Midlands

I have been using 'Trugs' at the end of each tutoring session. One boy, aged 12, looks forward to these games each week. He was so proud of himself, when he told his mum that he was reading multi-syllable words successfully. She was so pleased that he was so happy about reading! When we finished the 'last stage' he was actually disappointed as he thought we wouldn't play the games anymore! I intend to use a 'spelling' focus as a next step.

We have been using TRUGs this year and have found it a really good resource.

I am an OT and a Dyslexia Assessor/Tutor and I love the Trugs games. I have been following the development of your wonderful Trugs games and the website over the last couple of years and you are continuing to be very creative in all you do. You are a real inspiration providing such brilliant games which are rooted in the teaching that the children and young people are experiencing. Thank you.

The games (trugs) are great and I find them particularly useful for older children as they include harder words; it is hard to find games that just hit the spot for older children. I also love the high frequency words games as it’s a pain free way to learn to read them. Thank you. Linda

Just to let you know- a British special needs and reading specialist, who comes to work with a few of our challenged students every week, was well impressed with the morning reading program using TRUGS. I asked her if we could improve in any way, and her response was a resounding no - a few 'graduates' of last year's program that she has worked with since have shown dramatic improvement in a few short months.

Sean, teacher in China.

I have used trugs a lot in my support sessions with a wide range of different learners and am a great advocate of the programme- I have seen some wonderful improvements in my students’ reading speed, fluency and confidence, and believe the programme can be tailored to use with students of all ages. The explicit teaching of rules via the engaging, multisensory games, reduces the ambiguity behind the English language and empowers learners by allowing them to apply these rules to decoding new words. This has enabled both their spelling and reading accuracy to increase, and with that, their self-esteem.
